Les Macarons

It took me 4 hours to get these, mostly on bus.RMB25.00/100g,kind of crazy?

Could be, but I’ve longed for it for a a long time. I made macaron several times at home and was always wondering what the authentic one is like. Mine could be crispy or chewy...I couldn't say they were tasty, though, so I always have doubt when I say people describe them so beautifully. I don't know where else macaroon is sold in Beijing. I remember seeing this in Gourmet Corner one year ago when I was trying to buy their croissants at half of the original price--never succeeded: they were sold out before my turn every time. Fortunately, I was able to try brioche; doughnut; cinnamon roll, and consider them worth the halved price. When to get the discount? After 19:00 every day; not sure for special holidays.
So it should be my first disappointment there. I don’t care they broke before getting home. But my disappointment began to rise when I tear one apart… And the cookies alone are hard and…nothing beside being sweet. I thought macaron must be made with ground almonds or it’s meringue rather than macaron. Sorry I can’t taste any trace of almond.
I'm not having any expectation for macaron now, unless it’s Pierre Hermé.
